Pep Boys Automotive Poor Service Center is known for its rude customer service and low quality maintenance and repair. It is unbelievable that executives at Manny Moe and Jack keep trying to figure out why profits are down. They keep renovating stores and upgrading software. They will never get the picture that things will always stay bad if they have workers that are willing to lie and be rude to customers. A good example is the assistant manager at Pep Boys, Virginia Beach.

Luis Colon has no problem whatsoever lying to customers even if it’s an outrageous lie. In addition, there is no reason to do this so his motive is unknown. The only thing it does is make the customer frustrated. Obviously, he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed but the point is that keeping rude automotive technicians like him at Pep Boys only diminishes their position in the industry.

If Pep Boys wants to return to profitability, they need to do some massive retraining of their workers. Their automotive super center must eliminate poor service, bad maintenance and bad customer support, and reverse low standards in quality. Pep Boys poor service super center is putting money in the wrong areas. Painting an automotive store only to continue their low standards and bad maintenance repair will only cause people to continue to complain. Profits will be poor for some time to come.

After many years, the CEO resigned under pressure from stockholders that have had enough of Pep Boys downward spiral. Ironically, after Larry Stevenson resigned stocks went up a little. This will not help Pep Boys or Manny, Moe and Jack for that matter since they still have low quality car service – much lower than the automotive industry’s average.

When I complained to Pep Boys corporate headquarters about their poor service and rude customer support I never received a reply. That did not surprise me since customer support at the Virginia Beach store was very poor also. They figured incorrectly that some would be like the many unsatisfied customers and drop the complaint, they were wrong – right Luis?

There is a very good chance Pep Boys along with Manny, Moe and Jack will be sold off for its assets. That will be a good thing for consumers who are tired of rude customer support and poor quality maintenance. In its place there will hopefully be companies that provide good quality service and better quality customer support in the automotive industry. That will be good for consumers, workers and stockholders.
